BioNeutral is actively developing products designed to address a variety of microbial and chemical issues. One example of such an issue is the problem of high levels of formaldehyde that have been detected in some new construction, including housing structures and schools. This problem was especially acute in emergency temporary housing provided to the displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

Company testing in the field on temporary housing has shown that the company’s ChemoNeutralizer is effective in reducing levels of formaldehyde in the air. Company testing with a passive static scavenging system has led to the development of a fan-based filtration system (using the Ogiene™ CE formulation) that is expected to continually maintain levels of formaldehyde below that considered to be hazardous.




BioNeutral's Ogiene™ technology is also capable of neutralizing harmful chemicals that are present in new apparel due to the process of dyeing and finishing of textiles with formaldehyde resins and other chemicals, glues and tanning agents. Formaldehyde exists in many brands of clothing and may not be eliminated by washing or dry cleaning.   Ogiene™ applications neutralize harmful chemicals in new apparel without leaving any odor of their own or any harmful chemical residue.
